Some friends and I are making a game called Shadow Realm.

A FREE RPG medevil game.

We got basically all the programmers we need.
At this point were in need of sprites.

What are sprites?
There characters/monsters made with different programs.
In example like the characters in diablo like a sorceress

andusey- are you making a 3d game or a scrolling till game.

3d- need to model a sprite (with 3ds max ,or lightwave, maya, ect...)

scrolling tile- just create a bitmap with the character and all their movements and animate them

ie

I'm leaning more to scrolling well im not positive i will have to talk with the crew.
I just recrute sprite designers/programmers.

What is the preferred way of creating sprites made with bitmaps? Is it pencil,paper, and scanner or just some complex graphics program?

bitmaps. if you want draw the ditmaps then scan them on to the computer then save it as a bitmap, I wouldn't do that though, I would use paint shop pro 7, photoshop, corel draw . . . ect.
