Anyone know of a basic Allegro tutorial, maybe one that is geared towards someone who's never used a library before?

I'm gonna take a wild stab in the dark and suggest the allegro home page.
Better yet, you go look at it and see if it's good enough for you or you want something even simpler.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.
Woop?
Perfect! Thanks!
Hold on... can Allegro even be used with Visual Studio? In the instructions that come with it always talk about about a different program. And if so, how?
It is useable with visual studio. Check here http://www.allegro.cc/resource/index.php?id=18.
Woop?
That assumes you have Allegro installed for Visual Studio. I don't, and I don't know how.
Okay, I have it installed now, I just need to configure Visual Studio. Followed the instructions on the link you gave me, but it comes to a point and it says "On the folder tree..." and I can't find the folder tree!
Okay, now it works, except It can't find MSVCR70D.dll. I found it for download, but I don't know where to put it. Anyone know? It's a visual studio file. Please Help! I googled a lot and can't find anything!
