Can someone give me a script for a very basic game? Or just an example? If not I would like to know if I should become very familar with C++ before I start game programming. Give any helpful adivice you can to a noobie in programming.

Well, there are many free open source games you could look at, the most popular being the Quake series of games, also look in some of the threads here for some games we've made.
And I would suggest being proffecient in a programming language before you seriously start in game development, but if you just wanna learn, then there's no better time than the present, that's what I'm doing.
If you want to make some graphical games, you should know, or learn, a graphics library such as DirectX, or OpenGL. Do a Yahoogle on the subjects, there are tonnes of tutorials for both of these.
Good Luck
Sorry we aren't scripters. We are coders. Can someone give me a script for a very basic game?

Basically, yes, you need to know C++ or at least C.
Period.
Ya if your going to make an effort to make a game point it towards C/C++ and DirectX/OpenGL. Don't be a wannabe and make a game in game maker with scripts and then go lol me game is so 1337 maybe Blizzard should hire me.
My computer is awesome.
