Thread: So im buying to buy some books

Here are the ones I thought looked good. Im going to try to buy one book for each direct x.

Like direct 3d, direct input ect.

I cant seem to find any good books on direct sound, input ect...

Anyone know of any?

Personally, I wouldn't suggest buying a book for DirectX. Every book I've looked at takes the sdk (pictures and all) and puts it to print. They add a few little "tips" like "****Don't forget to Release your COM objects****." Instead, I'd suggest picking up a 3D engine book (like the one you picked out, be forwarned there will be a barrage of equations and terminology you might not be ready for). For books on tricks and nifty ways to use DirectX, read articles, or books that are compilations of articles like the Game Programming Gems books.

then how do you suggest i learn direct x? lol.

I cant learn enough to make games by reading articles.
