First actully learn C++ don't brezze though it thinking you know it. Then after you are semi-familar with C++ try to make a basic console game.

I can help you out if you need it. Starting with basic text games, then ascii, then actual GFX, prefferably with SDL, as allegro is a tiny bit annoying to setup.... lol
