    Loss of Game Forum Popularity?

It seems as though after the site was down, many people do not post here anymore. Does anyone else notice?

i agree, this place has had an extremely large sudden drop of people who post here for some reason. I remember when I had first come here it was booming with people. It was almost like a chatroom it was so popular. Sadly though, they all left. Only me and a few others on this board are the people from the original bunch(i miss stoned_coder)

It seems that people are now using the Game Board for things not even relevant to the game board. I've had to tell about 3 people in the last month that their posts are in the wrong forum.

yeah i noticed a decline also. i remember way back in the day (like 2001) how many games and stuff were posted in here and how i could get on the game forum and literally spend an entire class period (50 minutes) reading posts. Now im lucky if i can spend 10 minutes reading new posts.

Maybe some advertising of the site should be done. Is there anyway of Cprogramming.com becomming an affiliate of something? Perhaps gamedev.net or anything else?

this is true. but I (along with many others) have always considered this board the Game/Graphics board. Perhaps we'd get more traffic if the name was changed to incorperate graphics as part of the topic of this board.

That is an excellent idea. It would probably draw a lot more people here if we called it the Game/Graphics Board. I think it would be even cooler if it was renamed to the "Multimedia / Game Board", because with that you got all aspects of what makes games work.

i agree. a big part of game programming is including sounds, music, key input... basically a lot of stuff that doesn't really have a board.

i wish we (this board) had the traffic we used to...

I have a side-scroller game I'm working on. I suppose I could flood the board with questions...

please do, I love looking at other people's code. even if you don't need help, post some code to look at or something.
