OpenGL/DirectX will work fine on Dev-c++. But I suggest you learn C++ first before getting into OpenGL. The tutorials on this site are a good start .

i just started openGL programming too. I found this site to be very good for beginners and it comes with a pdf that's more like an e-book you can't go wrong with.
    served me well so far.

trust me download the pDF and you'll probably won't need a book as the explanation's so detailed I could give it to my Ma' to write. After I go through half of it I intend to buy a book though toi get a different perspective on this.

You know that you know enough C++ basics if you can get it to work without asking anybody for help.
