    OpenGL Game Programming

    Has anyone read/bought this book, by the gamedev.net guys? If you have, could you please give me some advice if this book is good for learning opengl cause im pretty beginner and i just want a book to help me learn it. Online tutorials are hard to follow. Thanks a lot

    It's excellent in my opinion. I highly suggest you buy it, it'll give you a great start.

    They could go a bit more into details. Like stencil buffer shadows.
    The layout always makes me think this is some kind of StarTrek book but other than that it's faily good

    that's actually one of the reasons why I said it will give you a great start I remembered that they didn't go into great detail with the stencil shadow volumes, but the book is already long enough that you can feel overwhelmed when starting to read it. It took me a year to really need other resources, and the only other way you can really learn after that is take the theories you learned from the book and dabble with your own stuff.

    I bought the OpenGL SuperBible, but I don't use it often. Let me put it this way, OpenGL Game Programming's binding is torn to pieces from being open so much, and OpenGL SuperBible's binding is smooth as a baby's bottom
