Choose a book for me then.

    Hey,

THese are my choices. I consider them all to be pretti suitable for me. To give you an idea of my experience, i only made a connect4 and an othello game. I can't buy all of them at once, which one should i buy first? The candidates are:

    Windows Game Programming For Dummies
Teach yourself game programming in 24 hours
Tricks of the windows game programming gurus
    Game design: theory and practice

I don't really recommend any Sams books. A lot of them that I've read seem to have non-ANSI solutions.

But would'nt it be quite boring if you're just reading how to design a game? I'm just a hobby game programmer, so do i really need to get into this depth of game design?

"Tricks of the windows game programming gurus"

Thats a very good book, but it deals primarily with direct draw.

I never trusted those books simply because they say its a fact
that you can teach yourself c++ in 24, wich is just bull.
Someone might not be gifted with programming skillzor and
have a hard time learning and taking it longer then 24 days
    resulting in a sue

    Hehe.

Besides learning C++ in 24 hours is impossible.
Hence you skip everything that makes C++ C++ (Polymorph,Classes,Structs,Namespaces)

    hmmm

    7 days in a week
    30 days in a month
    5 months....

if my math is right i have been programming for 3600 hours. Not exact as i don't program 24 hours a day, but it makes a strong point :P

But besides the claim for you to learn in 24 hours is there any more bad things about the teach yourself series?

    What about the dummies one?

Tricks i will definitely buy, but i just want to know which one should i buy first now.

Actually i think you can realli learn the stuff in 24 hours, but not in one day i mean, spread out.
