    OpenGL

    do i need anything special to run programs written in OpenGL?

    Well if you are running them from Windows you will need the DLL. Never have used it on another platform.

    I thought that *most* video cards came with support for OpenGL? or do you need the DLL too?

    Windows normally comes with gl.h and glu.h. If you want to use glut then you'll need to download the libraries from somewhere. Take a look at nehe.gamedev.net for the best opengl info around
    Couldn't think of anything interesting, cool or funny - sorry.
