    Lots of RPG questions...

Why the sudden surge? There is Bert asking about Saving Games, Burtainian Fly asking about MUDs, JoshG asking where to start, and civix with one already going. Why are so many people interesting in RPGs lately? Something to do with the stock markets? A change in the weather? RTS and Action to hard to do? Does anyone have the answers to these questions I have? Or I am I looking at more sleepless nights wondering?

Probably because so many people are interested in creating RPGs. The answer to your question is the question itself. People are creating RPGs because they are interested in RPGs. But yeah I know what you're saying, though; it does seem like a lot of people are creating RPGs.

Yes, I like it as well, I am just surprised that no one is making anything at all but RPGs (that may be an exaggeration...). Okay then.

I disagree with your above statement. I do not enjoy RPGs.

I'm making an RPG because it doesn't require graphics (I don't know how to add graphics).

civix: Its not that I can't get good graphics. Its because I don't know how to put graphics into programs.

I have poor logic skills and making people feel bad makes me feel better about myself.

Everyone else, I think maybe it is because the planet's are aligned, or because NWN and Warcraft 3 came out and got everyone in the roleplaying mood.

im not making an RPG...I am making a Dragonball Z clone of Liero/Worms. It is a side scrolling action kind of game. Its going pretty well so far.

Probably why so many people are making RPG's is because RPG is a good place to start. It isn't near as hard as something like FPS or RTS.
