You must make a project for every program you wish to make. You then load in the example file from Dev-C++ (and remove untitled.cpp). Remember to use the Allegro tab for setting it up.

Oh, and Dev-C++ wants you to confirm the linker options before you close your project. To do this, go Project>ProjectOptions. Then just close the window by pressing OK, it is now saved. You have to do this once per project when you first make it. A bit silly, but, well, here's to hoping Dev 5.0 will drop it, eh?

Alright thanks alot Justin, you've been great, but i got one more question. In the ALlegro examples section there is one named "ex3d" or soemthing that had flying 3dcubes...looking at that code i dont get ANY bit of it....could you just explain to me what exactly is going on...like with the VTX, points and that array stuff thats going on...along with that calculation where it is like (pal[1] * MAX_CUBES ect....i dont get where they get these calculations and why they do them...if you could just explain that program it would help a lot...

    thnx

    Oh, and this too: http://echellon.hybd.net/articles.ph...show=0&state=1

The first one specifically goes over ex3D (which use to be ex22). However, any 3D principles will apply so you might just research how this is done in a more general way. Of course, 2D might be easier for you to get into to start. Try making a really nice looking isometric engine, for example, as this is still a common basis for games today.
