Should this board be a Java board?

Do you think we should change the C# board to a Java board? I think we should.

never used C# or Java (only Jscript) but i think it should stay C# (although i like the java language more...) cause this is a C programming site (not the address) not javaprogramming.com...

Java is crap compared to C#. But that is no reason not to set up a messageboard. However, C# is very close to the C family of languages, as you see when you write unsafe code. And after all, this is cprogramming.com

actually, it is. I'm more-than-convinced (hah!one whole word!) that this forum will STAY C# and never turn Java. Java is no more related to C/C++ than Pascal or ASM.

Not to mention C# is a great langauge. Have you even tried it yet? Even TRIED to learn it? Do that before you decide you want to completely change the only forum for it on the site.

you hate me now? gee, amazing that a 12-year old would say something like that just kidding...

    >>plus if C# is made by one company then it sucks

exaplin how that's supposed to make sense.

    >>Its VB all over again

VB's actually a pretty popular language. And this is lower-level than VB.

    >I can't even get a compiler for C#

You mean you are unable to download the 120 MB SDK for C# while you would be able to download the 130 MB JDK1.3 for Java ???

    >plus if C# is made by one company then it sucks

You mean unlike Java, which is made by Sun only ?
    LOL

    >its VB all over again

Would VB with C in the background so bad ?

For your information and taking the risk of sounding like a broken record: The Visual Studio .NET Beta II can be either downloaded or ordered for free or for packaging & posting costs, which is about 10$ or so. If you think J++ is better... well, there will be a J++.NET, too ( pretty perverted to have J++.NET if you ask me ). Any true Java freak would say J++ is no real Java. I agree. However, I have to say that it isn't neccessarily worse. It's AWT supports UNICODE unlike Suns JDK which is the base for all other Java IDEs. Forte for Java is nice and Borland J Builder is quite ok, too.

If you just got VS, I suggest you get VS.NET the same way.

pssst... and don't let anyone know you use J++

so anyway, isn't this a C# board? why are we bickering about Java then? I'm learning Java nd C# (although more C#) at the same time. I like them both, but if I had to choose I'd take C#.
