Critical problem dealing with a copy and pasted version

My friend's grandfather owns a copy of the microsoft visual studios C++, my friend created a copy of the program and give me and himself 1 and we each put it on our computer. Very quickly it got to the point where it would not even run Helloworld! It has an error spawning 'Cl.exe' and claims the program I try to run does not exist.

How can I get this fixed or alternatively get a working copy of the program for free?

Magic? Honestly, I wouldn't advertise the fact that you steal software. Think that programmers are the only ones that frequent these forums?

Some of us here write software for a living. Imagine that.
