My friend's grandfather owns a copy of the microsoft visual studios C++, my friend created a copy of the program and give me and himself 1 and we each put it on our computer. Very quickly it got to the point where it would not even run Helloworld! It has an error spawning 'Cl.exe' and claims the program I try to run does not exist.
How can I get this fixed or alternatively get a working copy of the program for free?

there is a free version of VC++ called Visual Studio Express. go to microsoft's website and download it.
