So like a year ago I had 3d models up on a screen on top of a semi working object oriented game engine...
Now I can't figure out how to keep my console from closing automatically after it completes my code...
Help?

Actually this is weird because for some reason I recall my apps doing it by themselves, without any code..
Is that an stdafx thing?

What IDE are you using now? Some IDEs pause the program for you.

Are you using "Debug" now instead of "Run"?

If your message loop is up and running then the only way to get out of it is by trapping for a certain keypress or the ALT F4 on the program in Windows.
Sounds like you have a problem in the message loop of the main module or your app is exiting prematurely making it look as if it is closing. Check the exit code in the compiler. It should be 0 if everything went as planned.
It was running in debug, problem solved
