trial version of MSCV

A friend got me several new books on C++, but they are on MSVC 6. Is there a trial version of it anywhere?

I know borland has a trial version of there compiler?

Really just want to check it out before I spend the bucks to buy it.

There is an Introductory edition or some such. I think it's only about $5 so its the next closest thing to free. I'm not sure where you can get it. Try your local software retailer.
