One question to C++ game programmers

Besides ofcourse knowing C++ what other things do you need to learn to make a game using C++?
There are some real morons in this world please do not become one of them, do not become a victim of moronitis. PROGRAMMING IS THE FUTURE...THE FUTURE IS NOW!!!!!!!!!

The next big thing you need to learn a graphics API.
Prove you can code in C++ or C# at TopCoder, referrer rrenaud

maths is only for things like the physics of the game and other stuff like that. Another important thing you need is TIME!!! But the most important thing ofcourse is the graphics API such as GDI (which is probably the easiest even though its not that easy) or DirectX (I know DirectX and I would recommend it). SilentStrike has already stated this, but I just thought that I would elaborate on it a bit...

I would recommend starting with Tricks of the Windows Game Programming Gurus by Andre LaMothe. He has a very laid back style that made it easy to follow the various aspects involved.

One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
