alright.. I"ve been playing around with C/C++ and BASIC for a while and I'm tryig to get semi-serious about C++... any good tips for a beginner and does any one know of a website that has like exercises or something of that nature??? thanx in advance

the biggest tip I can give: don't get discouraged. if you have any questions, ask/search around... you may even want to get a friend or teacher that knows a little more about C++ or programming in general to help you out a little bit...
