    That one was not available.

What about C++ Primer 4th Edition? I'm learning this book now. And I think this book is very good.

    >> OK, thanks guys. I just went to the bookstore and purchased C++ A Beginner's Guide, Second Edition, by author Herbert Schildt.

Too bad. I really hope for your sake that this book is better than previous ones. The problem with Schildt is that his books are easy to follow, which attracts newbies who don't know any better. However, in the past, his books have been notorious for containing major errors and very bad advice. So he makes it easy for you to learn the wrong thing. Then you get people coming to these forums with very bad habits.

You are right though, I don't think I've ever heard of a good beginner's C++ book that is simple. Maybe that's because C++ isn't simple.

I never had a problem with it :P
I wasn't exactly a beginner but I wasn't exactly skilled in any way either when I started reading it.
    To code is divine
