    Question The history of a "Bug"

    Where does the word a "bug" in a program come from? I heard it was that someone had an actual bug in their computer or something. Tell me if you know.

    'Bug' = annoying.

    Minor error is very annoying. Isn't it?

    The story is true. My professor had us watch a video of Grace Hopper and she told the story. It happens to be in some museum as well. The first computer bug. It was actually an entertaining video. Do a search on Grace Hopper and I bet you'll find out more information.

    she's a very important person in computers so do read.
    my favorite part of the video we watched was when she was talking about the programmers she was in charge of. She noticed different furniture where they were and asked where it came from and they relpied it wasn't bolted down. she said they never stole anything from the pentagon only rearranged stuff.
    i'd love to have a boss like that.

    hmmm... that sounds a lot like grass hopper...

    3 people in at the side of a freeway with their brokendown car...

    buisiness: let's market it as a 'breakdown wagon'...
    engineer: let's crack 'er open and see what makes it tick...
    programmer: let's try and see if we can get it to do it again...

    or something like that...
