ive learned everything i know from this sites tutorials, if that helps.
Try doing a search for c++ at amazon under books.
You can get reviews, product details, as well as read the 1st chapter for free. Im planning on buy directx and game engine books from there.
I appreciate the advice, however I am really looking for what most would consider a great C++ for someone who would be considered a beginner.

read my sig, sams teach yourself c++ in 21 days is great for beginners and then it has some intermediate stuff

As for complete beginner's books - "Accelerated C++" is pretty good.

I came here only knowing server side languages and html. Now i have a firm grasp on the basics of c++ just from using the free tutorials.
free tutorials are ok but they are not progressive. when reading a book, you learn something in 1 chapter and then learn something on the second chapter by also using what you learned in the 1st chapter.

Also, the tutorials here at Cprog are wonderful because they're EXTREMELY short, most of the time. They're great for people with a small attention span, like me.

Need a good book to learn C++. No prior programming experience. I have been reading the tutorials on this site, but some stuff is still Greek or I would like a better explanation of a topic. Besides I don't have the time to just sit here & read all the tutorials. Thanx for suggestions
