Perhaps a bit more in-depth than you are looking for, but check out this PDF book: http://www.cis.upenn.edu/%7Ewilf/AlgComp3.html
The word rap as it applies to music is the result of a peculiar phonological rule which has stripped the word of its initial voiceless velar stop.

I will even go a step further: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...22&btnG=Search

edit:: you can even search for "time complexity algorithm"

Err... As a side note, the online book I posted the link to is quite rigorous and theoretical in its treatment of the subject (and, you might not have found it easily with a Google search, as I was looking for something completely different when I found it).

Anyway... Axon, some of those search results are umm... a bit outside the realm of computer science, methinks.
