Im looking into doing a countdown program, does anybody know a good way to compare today's date and time to the desired date and time and give the difference in days, hours, minutes, and seconds? such as: its now Sep 26 10:50 AM, it is X days, X hours, X mintues, and
    X seconds until Nov 21 10:00 AM

difftime() tells you the number of seconds between two date-times
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.
