How to tell when shell create a process?

How to tell when shell create a process?

when you run something, i want my program to go "oh, the user has ran a program called example.exe" and to be notified so that it can do something in response to the user running the file.

anyway to do that besides using a resource consuming hook?

Sounds just like the kind of thing a virus checker does.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

Yeah, I m looking for this too. So when user run my program, it will detect that whether user has run program "example" than if user has run it, my program will kill program "example" first before doing some job for user.

    os: posix compatible.....

    Thank you....
