    I miss C

I am trying to learn C++ and I'm starting to miss C's simplicity

Personally, I find C++ simpler. I think the I/O is cleaner and more functional. Also, I think references are much simpler than pointers all over the place. I'm a big fan of OOP, too.
    FAQ

"The computer programmer is a creator of universes for which he alone is responsible. Universes of virtually unlimited complexity can be created in the form of computer programs." -- Joseph Weizenbaum.

"If you cannot grok the overall structure of a program while taking a shower, you are not ready to code it." -- Richard Pattis.

C++ makes some things easier but there's so much to learn. And I still see a lot of pointers all over the place

Wait till you get to JAVA hope you don't have hair.
LOL right now I don't have any intention of going there. I am investing a lot of time and concentration in learning this C++ monstrosity so I might as well use it for a while. :d

Once you get used to Object Oriented Programming, you wil appreciate its simplicity.

Java is much simpler than C++.
