Images/Text Colors

Hey I am designing a text based adventure with my friend. Just a dos based adventure, and we were wondering if there was a way to put an image in dos? Maybe a library or something.

Also, I found out how to do colored text, but once its colored, it caonnot be changed to other colors, i've tried several things but it doesnt seem to work. If someone could direct me to a colored text tutorial of some kind (other than msdn) it would be just great.
