Question has anybody heard about this?

I don't think this has too much to do with C++, but I had someone recently ask me how he could make a page load when someone reads an email. He called it a spider, and I would like to help him out, but I am not very familiar with that type of thing. Please help me out if you can

    > He called it a spider,
    I call it a virus!

Unannounced lauching of applications simply by reading email is not nice IMO.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

Well I don't think he is using it for anything like that, and if it just loads a page, it is not a virus. I am just wondering if it can be done.

If your friend(You) wants to know who to make an email open another page , try placing some jave script in the email...
But most sites like hotmail filter out the script so you can't do nasty things with it... but if you really want to you can bypass the filters they use........if you learn to do this don't try to give someone a virus. at the worst make an ad pop up...
Try to help all less knowledgeable than yourself, within
the limits provided by time, complexity and tolerance.

    ya

Scheesh! The last thing I want in an E-mail (except for a virus) is alot of pop-up windows... annoying, that's what it is...

well one thing is that it isn't me. I am in college and someone here posted something about needing a programmer for something. I asked him what it was for, and that is what he said. I am not sure what he needs it for. I was just trying to find info about how or even if it could be done and then try it from there
