Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the correct board but none of the other ones seem better.

I've been programming in C++ and using the Borland command line compiler for a while and can programming just about everything I want to do and, I've started learning about windows programing. But the command line is very inconvient to use. I can get either MSV C++ from the University Bookstore for $99 or the University has an aggrement with Microsoft so that I can get Microsoft Visual Studio.net Professional for $40. I've read that Microsoft Visual Studio.net Professional is more about web apps and server, and PCC, but will I be able to use it for my basic windows and console prgraming in C++. I would rather get the cheaper software. Thanks for your input.
