Thanks I enjoyed my stay (all of one day)

Yeah ok I got it... but by you and magos posting new threads after I had already thanked him, kinda defeats the argument doesnt it? I've come back to this site twice now thinking someone had replied to my post, and both threads had nothing to do with my question.
    LOL

I doubt ill be back to your board so it wont do you any good to reply to this post- but you really should lighten up-
I was simply being polite. And it took you what- all of 3 seconds to read what I posted?

In fact if reading a post inconveniences you, then perhaps another communication medium would be better

I often wonder why people get insulted and threaten never to return when we enforce the rules. The whole purpose of the rules these boards have (both written and unwritten) is to maintain on-topic discussion so that anyone who needs help can get it quickly by not having to wade through irrelevant threads in a search or waiting for us to do the same before we get to the real questions.

    >I doubt ill be back to your board
In my experience, those who threaten never to return are those we wanted to leave in the first place.

    >but you really should lighten up
Everyone else seems capable of tolerating the rough and tumble of these forums. They understand that it is to keep things focused on what matters, helping people learn to program.

    >I was simply being polite.
That's fine. We like polite people around here, it's a nice change. Just don't start a new thread for that purpose unless it's in the General Discussion forum.

    >In fact if reading a post inconveniences you
Reading a post isn't a problem, we do it all the time. The problem is off-topic threads. If someone helps you in a thread, it makes sense to thank them in that thread. If you post a new thread, it should be related to the topic of the forum you're posting in.

    >Dont be so serious, its only a message board not a NASDAQ ticker
What we do here is help people to learn. If they don't learn correctly then we could either ruin their chances at a successful career programming, or somebody elses life if they write broken code to drive an X-Ray machine, life support system, or air traffic control equipment that suddenly fails and kills people. I take it very seriously and I'm sorry that you don't appreciate that.
My best code is written with the delete key.

    Very well said, Prelude.
Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah
