    Dual Poll: Direct X/Open GL, Game/Windows Programming

    hey, i think im doing pretty well in terms of cosole programming, and im getting ready to move on to some graphics. i may be wrong here, but from what ive seen, graphics are usally made in open gl or direct x. i was wondering which you guys chose and why, and if there are some good tutorials out there you could recommand to me. i was wondering the same thing for the windows/gameing, i want to do game programming more, but i am interested in windows, what do you guys think? (i know its a matter of opinion, just want to see what people in general go with)

    NeHe for OpenGL.
    Naturally I didn't feel inspired enough to read all the links for you, since I already slaved away for long hours under a blistering sun pressing the search button after typing four whole words! - Quzah

    Why do you have a function prototype in the code in your signature?
    "void money();"

    And also, why do you have such a ridiculously long signature?

    ok a few things:
    first of all, i apologise for bumping this thread up. i just moved and the new house was supposed to be wired and ready for our dsl, but then wasnt, and it took a while for the phone company to get here and work their magic so i could get online
    second of all, thanks for the votes, i have heard of nehe before and its a great site, i went there for a little taste of opengl, which i expected to be more popular than directx (based on number of posts ive seen and such)
    third of all, the reason my sig is so long is that its awesome, and it rules, and plus its awesome. and the reason i have a function declaration in there is for the little pun/play on words/whatever its called "void money", as in its "voiding" your money, making it no good. i found it to be very clever...
