Is there a good compiler out for XP?
Or will Bloodshed Dev compiler work?

The only good thing about freezing beyond feeling in the final Nordic ski race was that I couldn't feel that tumble I did going about 30 mph, maybe more.
On the other hand, not feeling any part of my body for 30 minutes was scary, especialy for my manhood.
Windoze: XP, hate it, though its more stable than my old 98SE
Dream: linux, mandrake, then slackware.
as for compilers, i use mingw 3.2 mostly, and rarely borland bcc55.
I've been using Dev-C++ Ver 4 with XP-home. It has it's quirks, but most of the time it's OK. I like MSVC++ 6.0 better (hate to admit it ) but it has quirks too.
Actually, I think the most reliable one is the Borland CPP Builder 5.5 (free download from borland.com), if you don't mind using a command-line compiler.
i like visual c++ 7.0 (part of .net), you can get a the standard version for about 50-100$ if you look around, its not that bad. i have the whole visual studio suite so im not sure about how much exactly, but i heard it was around that price. i like the compiler & a seksi IDE
I choose to use my reserved right....STFB
RoD, that was quite uncalled for.
I am against the teaching of evolution in schools. I am also against widespread
literacy and the refrigeration of food.
I dont see why. One of the rules is to do a search of the boards before you post to see if the topic was already presented. Considering the sickening repetition of compiler suggestions and the like i think its quite called for.
RoD, get off the power trip. To be able to say something like that, you have to be a well respected member, like Salem, Fordy, Prelude, any other mod, etc. You don't exactly fit in this category of "I've helped a ton of people so I can say stuff like this." So, STFU.
That will do.....
A few options have been given, any more can be found with a websearch...DevC++ is fine for windows as it produces windows executables and has all the headers & libs
Also have a look at http://www.compilers.net/
