I would probably go quicker if I were studying more on my own, but I'm really going along with the class.

I've never taken a class and i don't think i will if i had the choice,
because it just sucks when it goes far slower then you want.

it does suck, and i wish it would go faster, its just all the dumb people in the class that slow it down. there are still some people that don't know how to call a function, and this is after two semesters of programming.

but it is a fun class, not a boring one (most of the time); and i am really taking it to get some college credit.

    I applied to:
    • University of Colorado Boulder
    • Colorado School of Mines
    • Stanford University
    • Santa Clara University
    • California Polytechnic State University (CalPoly)
    • Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
    • Gonzaga University

I've been accepted to Boulder, and Mines already...just waiting for more responses.

You should try for Digipen? Why would you drop the first week...?

oh I forgot to mention I'm only 13. My birthday is this Thursday. I say I would probably drop out because I cant handle stress well, I leave things till the last minute and I have bad work habits. Someone told me Digipen is a rough school and is not made for people with my work habits...

Well, since you are still 13 soon to be 14, start changing your work habits. also, stress will become more abundant as you start getting higher up in school, and when you start working.

I procrastinate a bit as well, but I get things done. If you aren't getting things done, then you definitely need to go for a reality check, and start working.

    "WOOT WOOT" for January 30!

I procrastinate...alot,like right now for instance I have a project for S.S due on my B-day. But I bet if I tried I could finish it now.

Even though I procrastinate, I still get the job done. I usualy start and finish a project the night before its due and still have time to play around. So ?I guess I'm realy not THAT bad.

that is good to hear, but projects will get longer and harder; so starting earlier, wouldn't be a bad idea. you may want to get used to it. From your age, I am assuming you are not in high school yet, or are in your freshmen year. once you hit high school, you'll need to start things earlier, especially when you have 3 or 4 projects due the same day, and teachers will do that.

Some comments about study habits from an old dude...

Before I started high school, we had to meet with a counsler. I was really into electronics. He said "With your grades, you'll never make it in electronics." My mom was really ticked-off because be was discouraging me, but he made me want to prove him wrong.

I got a bit lucky too because I became friends with some smarter kids. My parents used to tell me to "pick your friends more carefully." But I didn't know what they were talking about!

Through college I still didn't like school... always tried to sit by the window

A few years later I went back to graduate school (business, not computers or electronics), I started sitting if front of class and really getting into it. There arn't any dummys (or people with bad study habits) in graduate school. It's amazing how hanging around people with high-standards helps.

Now, arn't you glad you made that "Bad work habits" comment?

Sorry. I know you didn't come here for a lecture. Enjoy your programming and the work will be fun!

No way dude, I enjoy positive lectures. Just that some poeple go orverboard and make thier lectures boring.

I just found out I'll be having Mr.G(can't spell his real name) next week foe technology!!!He's like the ONLY teacher in the whole "Technology Department" of my school who knows what the hell C++ is! He can definatly help me with my programming!
