I tried that, but I still get the same error message.
have u tried as suggested and posted this on a Dev forum?
yes
I've just tried Dev-C++ 4.9.4.1 on Win 2000.
First I put installed folder (Dev-C++ folder) in root of drive D:\ , I got the same problem likes yours.
After I tried again, I put installed folder in root of drive C:\, It works fine.
Re-install again, dont go to sub-folder or program files, put installed folder in only root of C:\.
As far as I know, the file you've attached will do nothing, because it contains definitions, and declarations only, and you should have the library, not the headerfile...Quote:

I attached a iostream header from VS, can't hurt.
Well are you sure you downloaded the installation program that installs the header files also?
Yes
Self-extracting exe should bring full library.
Just re-install it in root of C:\ per my previous post.
Please tell me the result, I also want to know if it is ok.
OK, I reinstalled, and everything seems to work fine. Thanks!
