    I downloaded allegro and stuff and Im using dev c++ 4 but I have not got a clue on how to set it up. Do i just put the stuff in the allegro/include folder to c:\dev-c++\include etc. etc.

    Post Take a look...

    Here, look here - http://www.allegro.cc/files/install-devcpp.html - It's straight from the Allegro homepage so It should be accurate.

    uh...Dev-C++ already changed your so-called "booting ****", and it doesn't harm your system in any way.

    Download the self-extracter he told you about. A 5 year-old could set it up.

    1: allegro is extremely easy to use.
    2: this is a C question, not a C++ question.

    did you ever, ever, EVER stop to think before you said something? allegro is and always has been a well written portable graphics library, in C with asm here and there. not C++. the fact that you can #include its headers and use it in C++ has nothing to do what it's actually written in; it also can be called in a few other languages as well if i'm not mistaken.

    let's say that in terms of distance by links, martha stewart's home page can be considered to be about 1000 miles from goatse (a very repugnant anal webpage if you don't know what it is). this is a representation of about how many different web pages you would have to go through if you wanted to get from martha stewart to goatse only by clicking links on pages you visit. using this representation, the aforementioned page is about 10 feet from the allegro home page.

    okay, I won't even quote what you said in your question about the boot ****, it'll embarrass me

    What I was saying is, Dev-C++ changes boot **** when you install that. FOR DEV-C++. When you install allegro it changes boot **** FOR ALLEGRO.

    Actually, I never have had to change my boot **** for Allegro. I just installed it, and poof! It works!
