    is it true

    is it true that if u give varibles that just hold data numbers and not letters it makes the program run faster or something

    let me rephrase your question:
    do int variables work faster than char variables?
    yes, because on 32-bit systems int's line up better and take less time to access.

    This is one area where the epic struggle between size versus speed exists. Although the 32 bit ints are more optimized for a 32 bit cpu (we'll ignore technologies such as MMX for this discussion) they are larger in size, both in the exe and in memory during the program's execution.
