    Thumbs up "The C++ Programming Language"

    The book by Bjarne Stroustrup, it's the only textbook we're required to have for our class... anyway, I recently found out you can get the 3e of the book in PDF from MAXcode.com for free.... the thing is, they say the download is for "Big C++ One", when I was curious as to what it was, I found out it was the entire book in PDF format... so in case anyone is looking for a great reference book, check out the PDF, or better yet.... buy it!

    The C++ Programming Language - 3rd Edition
    (it's listed as 'Big C++ One' for some reason)

    Current is 3rd Edition.
    You can get the book off of my FTP, if you please.
    Although people have been reporting that it isn't working for them... if this is the case please report it to me.
    I can't seem to figure out IIS.

    Is it legal though? I've got the soft cover on my desktop, and I've read the whole thing. I am wondering if they actually have the right to put it up for download though.
    Prove you can code in C++ or C# at TopCoder, referrer rrenaud

    yes it probally is unless the site got permission to put that there. ive found tons of **** on the net that is illegal. im sure yoy all heard of roms. illegal:yes no matter how old, your not even supposed to be able to have them on your computer ofr 1 second unless you own the actual game. that for 24h only is a bunch of bull ****. ive also founded crakcs or some call them hacks for things such as MS visual c++, and PC demos to make them the ocmplete game. even tho i can easily find this stuff thru ads on non-commercial sites (like ones hosted by angelfire.com) that the webmaster put up personelly. Acorse I do not use this ****.

    your probally thnking im a stupid ***. but using illegal software hurts businesses and keeps them from producing more good software in the future. all because they cant get money form their ****

    Probably not, that's why it's got the odd name

    I don't think you're stupid, I agree 100%... but, as long as computers can talk to each other, there will be piracy, no matter how much security you put into it (actually, some MIT student just cracked the X-Box's encryption scheme, hehe)

    But, I have this book, and it's an awesome book, I just stumbled upon this PDF, and I think it's a good chance to show some people how great it is (so they'll get a copy... reading a PDF like a book sucks!)

    The only way PDF books will beat out paper books is if

    1) You have never read a paper book and only a PDF
    2) You get better monitors that won't make you blind from "reading."
