Well, I signed up in September 2001... around when I started in C++... so that's 8-9 months.

I have been programming in C++ for about 2 or 3 years. I quickly advanced from Console to Win32 API, then quickly from Win32 API to OpenGL/SDL.

I wish more people had replied to this poll. I really wanted to know how many people that visit this site are novice and how many are more advanced.

actually it's kinda hard to tell with me. I used to do it a few years ago back in high school and i did it for a little over a year, and sadly enough got bored with it. Now i'm 19 and decided that i missed it. SO all in all about 2 years, but this time around only a few months.

Started learning C++ about 4 or 5 years ago at university. At this moment I'm mainly programming in C at work, at home I still use C++ most. But currently I'm not programming very much at home.

I've been programming C++ for no more than a few weeks. I'm still on the basic stuff (Whats your name? Whats you age? nd then write it to a text file) but you have to start somewhere. Anybody got any good Win32 tutorial, as i'm finiding the dos prompt not very attractive.

I'm doing it for... about 2 weeks now.
I'm now right where I was 8 years ago when I decided to start learning C.... Pointers. At that time I stoped, because of the promise VB would change the world... bah!

I'm not that young anymore and life has not been kind. I notice I'm not as sharp as before. And I'm also having a little trouble retaining what I learn. My 8 year experience in VB doesn't help either, as it filled me with vices.

But, at my own pace, I'll get there
