where to now?

Could someone please give me some good websites etc.. for learning more about C++ after learning the syntax?

This is a problem because I can't put C++ to good use, If I were asked to write an FTP client for example, or a database program, I wouldn't know where to start. I know i'm going to get told to learn the libraries but I don't know where or how to learn them.
