    Exclamation Newbies and Everyone Else, Read!

    I've (and a lot of other people also) have been getting vary annoyed with people not using the [ code] and [ /code] tags (without the space). It's not that hard to do. Here's an example:
    Code Without The Tags:
    #include <iostream>

    int main()
    {
    printf("Codes Without Tags Can Get Messy!");
    return 0;
    }

    Now, here's the same piece of code WITH the code tag:
    Code:
    #include <iostream>

    int main()
    {
      printf("Now This Is More Like It!");
      return 0;
    }
    Now, it may not look like much right now, and your probably saying something like "Man, that's easy to read!". Yes, you are right, but if/when someone posts long code, it can get very annoying. You don't even have to take your hand off of the keyboard to insert the tag(s) you wish to use in your post. Just type a "[" then the tag name like code, php, or whatever, and then a "]" (take out the quotes though). Here's what the code example looks like (with spaces to show the tage name and stuff):

    [ code]
    #include <iostream>

    int main()
    {
    printf("Now This Is More Like It!");
    return 0;
    }
    [/ code]

    Note that I put spaces there. Like I already said, I used the spaces to show a clean way of doing the code tag. But when you use the tags, don't put a space. I hope people have learned from this. If you don't want to keep your hands on the keyboard, then use the mouse (the F.B.I. isn't going to go to your house for not using the keyboard to type in a tag).

    Just remember to use tags, and don't use the famous no-tag-no-one-will-care method....because no one (or hardly anyone) will want to answer a question on how to fix something or stuff like that if the poster didn't use the code tags.

    Everyone always accusing people of post increase posting...go get a life...for one, who cares? For two...who needs to do that? And especially come up with such a good reason for it? General Disccusion allows as much post getting as you want, generally without people accusing you of such...I'd say its more likely YOUR post was a post increaser.

    brilliant logic, trojan...not to mention completely unwarranted. Of course okiesmokie did it to increase post count! You know how everyone always waits for others to decry count-increasing, so they have an excuse to increase their count in turn!

    PS. Wait...You know what? I'd say that you're the post increaser here! Or wait...maybe I am! If you reply, then you will be again!

    You are an idiot.

    and while we're on the topic, this thread is completely redundant, considering one is on the top of every board. And don't you think you are a little arrogant? Why should you care about unformatted code? You help almost no-one, whether their code be formatted or not!

    Nope. The idea never came to me. Its sad it came to you though. GD lets you post increase to all hell...go there and get them. Your the moron...you people who live to yell about stupid **** on the board. Obviously a measure of house keeping needs to take place to keep things in order. Thats what the moderators are for. But this is ridiculus..you don't like a post..heres an idea...dont READ IT! Better yet, go outside, leave the cave...interact with a person...mabye youll learn to be a bit more tolerant. To have your life upset by a post on a c board...so upset that you feel you have to be a jackass for the sake of being a jackass, then its time for a break...go back to reality. The code tag is a problem. It is dealt with somewhere else. It prob didnt help to deal with ti again. Great. So what. The cosmic balance was not upset. The board was not polluted. Sorry for going off...but it seems to be the way of this board half the time so I felt like id join in...

    P.S
    And OBVIOUSLY smokie didnt do it too post boost. I just made the mistake of expecting too much intelligence from my audiance...my complete apologies to smokie and anyone who was offended. It was a form of sarcasm. His post was even more unnecssaary than the first. Which I dont care about. I just felt bad for the guy who made the thread. Seems to me like someone trying help out a bit. People first reaction is too often to be mean...and it just draws other in and perpetuates...just like it drew me in.

    and yet you keep on replying...
    I go to encounter for the millionth time the reality of experience and to forge in the smithy of my soul the uncreated conscience of my race.

    Windows XP consists of 32 bit extensions and a graphical shell for a 16 bit patch to an 8 bit operating system originally coded for a 4 bit microprocessor, written by a 2 bit company, that can't stand 1 bit of competition.

    Why do people get annoyed with **** posts like these? Because it detracts from time they can help others. If I'm reading a thread so I can try to help someone, I don't need a pile of posts which have nothing to do with the topic. What would happen if everyone posted with the sole purpose of increasing their post count? The moderators would get tired of deleting posts, as most of them would consist of "Ya" or "Ok" or something equally as stupid. If you annoy those who are here to help, you'll get no help. Simple.

    Agreed, I read just about every thread in it's entirety (if only I had the time to answer all of them) and these tend to get annoying. I post on these forums to help others learn how to program better, not to watch endless off-topic bickering. If I'm not mistaken, these types of threads are what the GD board is there for.
