Yeah, but do you know what? I don't need a forum to tell me "Go and learn low level stuff." If that's the answer to my problem, I could have easily done without all of you. I'm here to get some help about a specific problem. Telling me that I should study a whole compendium is really not a help. That I could have told myself too. For such a generic answer, I don't need people like you.

I doubt that's going to guilt-trip any of us into doing the research for you. If one of us knew off the top of our heads, it would have appeared by now; and the question is (at least in our opinion) not worth our time to find out. We're sorry you had such an uninteresting question, but there it is.

You got help to your specific problem: You need to set up a timer interrupt and then halt.

Writing DOS programs isn't your every day problem, so don't be surprised that you can't find someone who can spoon feed you the answer. If you had asked how to pause the program on windows or Linux for a few ms, the answer would be easier.
It is too clear and so it is hard to see.
A dunce once searched for fire with a lighted lantern.
Had he known what fire was,
He could have cooked his rice much sooner.

OK, doesn't matter anymore. Instead of programming, from now on I will only play video games.

Video games ruined my life. Good thing I have two extra lives.

I get maybe two dozen requests for help with some sort of programming or design problem every day. Most have more sense than to send me hundreds of lines of code. If they do, I ask them to find the smallest example that exhibits the problem and send me that. Mostly, they then find the error themselves. "Finding the smallest program that demonstrates the error" is a powerful debugging tool.
