    A good 2nd book?

I've had a look through the book recommendations and they generally focus on a first book. I'm currently working through Programming Principles - Stroustrup and Accelerated C++ as my first books, but I want to raid my University library before I go home for the summer. What would you guys recommend?

I think I would like to develop more on my algorithm design and understanding in particular. I have heard good things about Programming Pearls, which I will be picking up today. Any others?

    Thanks,

    Darren.

Design Patterns and Effective C++ are considered good intermediate books, I hear. Haven't read myself yet, but they're on the list.
