Maybe the idea is that you think about it and DEVELOP the algorithm? I know...it's so much easier to cheat and copy it from someone else.

And there's me thinking homework is to be done, not a test of who's got the best google skills (you've failed twice already)

If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

There's something scary about someone mentioning things like BURROWS WHEELER TRANSFORM in the writing style of a 10-year old. Child genius?
    I might be wrong.

Thank you, anon. You sure know how to recognize different types of trees from quite a long way away.

Actually, a genius would be too mature for his age, so wouldn't write in the style of a 10-year old (after being of the age of 3).
I'd rather think a retard who managed to cheat his way into college.

Not that I know of any personally, but would a child genius be equally developed in all respects? Perhaps one can be intellectually very mature, but emotionally (which determines the style of writing?) at the level to be expected.

Perhaps one can be super-smart ... at the rare moments when they can concentrate?

Come to think of it, the same could be applied to genii of all age...

Actually it is becoming a problem at universities here, that graduates can't express themselves in writing coherently and without errors. It is quite possible that nowadays, part of the grade you get for your academic thesis are for syntax (which was taken for granted earlier - imagine an illiterate intellectual!).
