Hmm, I think they're trying to hide it! See below... there is a magic hidden button you must press:
"Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are god. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are gods."

I don't know what Microsoft's timetable is for releasing VS 2010, but if indeed they are supposed to release it today, keep in mind: it's only 8:30 AM right now in Redmond. They have all day to do it.

I already downloaded/installed the "Visual C++ 2010 Express Beta 2" package listed above so it's there now. The 5 minutes I've played with it so far doesn't leave me impressed but that not enough time to really give it a good test.

So I wonder if its going to be possible to open vs2008 solutions and just use the "cool new" IDE features without upgrading the sln this time.

no it's not. you have to "upgrade". but 2010 offers some cool features. i've also testet the beta.

it's just more comfortable. remember VS 2005, where you haven't been able to "Remove&Sort usings". it sucked, so in visual studio 2008 it was possible.

now in visual studio 2010 some features like this and many more have been added.
you can move code outside the window on another screen for example. yeah!
the whole IDE rocks. it's written completely in WPF and that's what it looks like. fun yea...

    just upgrade and ya'll see
