    Optimizations disabled?

Is it true that the optimizations are disabled in VC++ 6 standard edition? I can't get them to work. Is there a way to enable them?

No, you need the proffessional or enterprise editions.

You could go with borland's command line compiler,
which is fully optimizing and free.

I got VC++ 6 standard from Kazaa. Couldn't find the Professional or Enterprise edition. I'll try Morpheus.

I'll rather use GCC than Borland if I was going to use a free compiler.

I don't use templates so that's not a problem for me. GCC works good.
