Is it true that the optimizations are disabled in VC++ 6 standard edition? I can't get them to work. Is there a way to enable them?

You could go with borland's command line compiler,
which is fully optimizing and free.
Or dl the full version using the morpheus program to search for the product you would like. You can get morpheus from music city
I got VC++ 6 standard from Kazaa. Couldn't find the Professional or Enterprise edition. I'll try Morpheus.
I'll rather use GCC than Borland if I was going to use a free compiler.
