    Oh... and for an easy entry into sound generation, if you don't want to carry the weight of full blow 3D APIs like OpenAL or FMOD as suggested, you may want to consider PortAudio. Very easy to use. I used it in the past for simple sound generation and was pleased with the results.

    Salem posted some time ago code that would play multiple sounds via Win32 PlaySound() which I didn't know was possible with that API function.
