    problem

    #include<iostream.h>
    main()
    {
    int number;
    cout<<"a number less than 24 please!";
    cin>>number;
    while (number>=24)
    {

    cin>>number;
    }
    return 0;
    }

    but if a char is written it wont work how do i write so
    it does?

    look up the fail(), good(), and clear() methods of istreams.

    cin>>number;

    while(cin.fail())
    {
    cout << "data entry error" << endl;
    cin.clear();
    cout << "enter a INTEGER less than 24";
    cin >> number;
    }

    while (number>=24)
