Visual Studio is THE best IDE out there.

Outside of your DOS world, your header file is meaningless.

What are you hinting at? Visual Studio is an IDE, emacs is an editor from what I gather.
VS is perfect for coding, and I dare say it's a good one seeing as it's pretty much the most popular IDE for Windows.

I guess I'm just an emacs, g++ and linux fundamentalist ;-)

But please don't say that the most popular is automatically the best, quality is not democracy. Guess it's just the ms hegemony :-(

I was just biting back because you said it was "poor"
Best is subjective to each individual. But I find it good, and it certainly is not a bad IDE, or otherwise it wouldn't be so popular.
