    conversion

    Dear All,

    I have an application that reads integer as character and I wanted it as an integer. how to convert the same?

    Code:
    char *pval;
    strcpy(pval, "5780");
    /* now I wanna keep pval in integer variable as integer*/

    Thanks in advance ...

    You're copying data into unallocated memory. Undefined behavior. Refrain from that.
    As to your question, converting the string into an integer is rather simple. You can use strtol.
