Thread: Getting the hard drive serial number?

Anybody know how to go about writing a function that gets the hard drive serial number from the computer.

Please forgive me, but to me your reply was a little cryptic.
I would assume that most everyone these days would be using a Windows operating system, but how would I go about finding out
(ie. - having the program find out) what operating system is being used (registry info?) and how would that help find out the
serial number for the hard drive?

I guess you know what an OS is, don't you? Since each OS is different, there are also different methods required to get the harddisk serial number.

Hmmm. Heard about Linux?

Well, it seems you don't know what a OS is. I can give you a little hint: place this post on the Windows board. :-)
