Okay, so does this make me a true bonehead.

After a few years of struggling with C (and still going), I can finally understand section 6.6 in the book "The C Programming Language", the second edition, by Kernighan and Richtie. Does this make me this dense because it has taken me this long to understand one section of the book?

Hardly. I had to switch from C++ down to C because I couldn't understand my book that well. I happen to like C more anyway, though, it's neat and uncomplicated. "My book" is by Jesse Liberty by the way, for the curious. It is now my understanding that Mr. Liberty shouldn't be able to teach a dog, let alone a person.

Hardly(2), I going on about a decade (or so) of still thinking, "I really ought to pick up a copy... one of these days".
    7. It is easier to write an incorrect program than understand a correct one.
    40. There are two ways to write error-free programs; only the third one works.*
